Queer Voices: NYC Film Festival is NYC’s first film festival focused on centering and celebrating LGBTQIA+ filmmakers of color.
Poster Design • Social Media • Art Direction
As the first designer to collaborate with QYVNYC, I was tasked with laying the groundwork for the organization’s budding visual identity and effectively translating the organization’s mission in it’s digital and print collateral. In this way, I serve not only as designer but art director and brand consultant, collaborating closely with QVNYC’s co-founders on how to best communicate with and engage the community their organization centers and celebrates.
The result? An ongoing collaboration to deliver a compelling and resonant promotional flyer, a series of promotional social media graphics, social media templates for the festival’s programming. These digital and print assets change annually as we continue to work together for each installment of the festival and support the festival’s evolution.

Promotional Poster
For Queer Voices: NYC Film Festival’s 2025 installment, I was tasked with designing a promotional poster (adapted for poster and postcard size) that coincided with this year’s theme: “This Is Our Time.” The photos were chosen meticulously, each one with its own significance to QVNYC and this year's theme. The imagery highlights influential BIPOC activists and organizations (i.e. Marsha P. Johnson, James Baldwin, Alvin Ailey, Harlem United, The Audre Lorde Project, etc) as well as symbols (i.e. the Poppy as a symbol for Palestinian liberation and the Lavender as a historic symbol of Queerness and resistance).
Tying all these elements together and drawing the viewer back to the poster’s objective are the gradients of color prominent to QVNYC’s branding dispersed throughout the collage.
The promotion of this poster garnered record engagement on social media.
Objective
Create compelling promotional poster for Queer Voices: NYC Film Festival 2025.
Deliverables
Full-size Poster (11x17)
Postcard (4.25" x 5.5")
2024 – 2025
Social Media Graphics
With Social Media as QVNYC’s main avenue for marketing and community building, we worked together to create graphics that were captivating and spoke to the DNA of the organization. Through the use of thoughtful composition and color, I created promotional graphics and programming templates.
The digital graphics coincide with their printed counterparts and incorporate the same visual language and imagery to create one cohesive experience. As the festival’s poster changes annually, so do the digital graphics.
